Greetings,
For the past couple of
years, the Western NC
Conference has made many
changes to become more
effective and efficient to
fulfill the vision of
"Follow Jesus. Make
Disciples. Transform the
World." Communication of
ministries growing out from
the vision is vital for the
future. The WNCC Commission
on Communication, with the
assistance and financial
support of United Methodist
Communication, is currently
in the final stages of a
comprehensive communication
audit of conference
communications. Now is the
time for your feedback
regarding impressions,
effectiveness of how we
currently transmit
information and dreams for
future communications in
light of new technologies.
Dan Burgess, a
communications consultant,
with extensive experience in
United Methodist
communication audits, is
collecting data through a
survey to help cast a
direction for the future.
All United Methodists from
pastors and church leaders
to persons sitting in the
pew on Sunday mornings are
asked to complete the survey
and return it to him for
compilation and analysis.
The survey comes in two
forms. The preferable method
is to complete the survey
online at
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/GJTKP2C.
A PDF file may also be
downloaded from the
http://www.wnccumc.org/com/pdf/Survey.pdf,
copied and made available to
your congregation.
As the pastor of a local
church, please help us
achieve a great response
rate in order to provide the
best data possible for
future decisions. There are
several things you can do to
help us.
-
Please announce in your
bulletin and/or
newsletter the survey
stressing online
completion, if possible.
-
Duplicate paper copies
of the survey (PDF
download) for those
who do not have Internet
access.
-
Provide places where
completed surveys may be
collected.
-
Return completed surveys
to:

Your feedback is important
and valued. I hope you will
take this opportunity to let
the conference know about
what information you wish to
receive and how you wish to
receive it. It will make a
difference in how we
communicate in the coming
years.
Thank you for your
assistance,
Mark L. Barden
WNCC Director of
Communication
