Hayesville First Methodist is a singing church, and choral and instrumental music are of central importance to worship.  Anthems range from contemporary, jazz, Latin beat, spirituals and southern gospel to classical themes keeping to the Lectionary scriptures of the day. To serve the diverse spiritual and musical interests of the congregation, the two Sunday services offer distinctive musical offerings. The format of each service, the style of music, and the congregational participation varies according to the focus of the day.
The Chancel Choir is comprised of Sopranos, Altos, Tenors and Basses. We have 35 members and most read music. We have three major productions per year...Christmas, Easter and End of Summer Concert. In the fall of each year, we have an overnight retreat to learn music for the upcoming year. We have a fund called the "Sunshine Fund" for ailing choir members or for the several picnics, dinners and "get togethers" we have during the year.

If you like to sing and want to join us, we are always looking for new choir members. Please contact our Director

Director of Music: Marcia T. Powell
